Welcome to WellSpaces — We're Glad You're Here

Networks don't begin with websites.

They begin with people who recognize something in each other — a shared question, a common direction, a sense that the work would be stronger if done together. WellSpaces began that way. Before there was a platform, there were organizations already doing the work — each in their own context, each carrying their own piece of the question. At some point someone asked: why don't we do this together? From that moment, everything else followed — the conversations, the structure, the long search for a name that could communicate clearly and stay open enough.

That process was not always easy. It asked patience, trust, and the willingness to stay with uncertainty longer than is comfortable. The organizations and people who carried this work through its formation phase know what that cost — and what it made possible.

In mid 2025, something shifted from possibility to reality. Months later, the network held its first gathering. People who had only been voices became faces on a screen — and will become people in a room. The framework that had lived in documents began to live in conversation. Twenty-seven organizations from seventeen countries brought their experience, their questions, and their commitment to something that now belongs to all of them.

You Are Welcome Here

WellSpaces is for the youth worker who has been doing this quietly for years without institutional support. For the organization trying to embed wellbeing into how it actually works, not just what it says it does. For the informal group that doesn't fit neatly into any category. For the researcher whose work belongs in practice. For the young person who knows something is missing and is looking for people who take that seriously.

There is no single entry point. There is no hierarchy of belonging.

What holds this network together is not a structure — it is an orientation. The belief that bio-psycho-physical wellbeing is the foundation of wise civic life. That safety, belonging, and hope are not soft concepts but conditions for everything else. That the work of making this real, locally and beyond Europe, is worth doing together.

A Lot of Work Ahead

We want to be honest: this is a beginning, not an arrival.

The platform you are looking at is an early trace of something that is still becoming. The programs, the tools, the policy work, the stories — much of it is being built in real time, by the people inside this network. That means there will be gaps. There will be moments of improvisation. There will be things that don't work yet.

What there will also be: real encounters, genuine exchange, and the particular kind of energy that comes from people who are building something they believe in.

We are grateful — to the organizations that held this through its formation, to the European Union for co-funding that made the infrastructure possible, and to everyone who has already said yes to being part of this.

The journey ahead is long. We're glad to be walking it with you.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. — Rumi
